Google has been awful for the latest version of Android, but thanks to the folks over at RootzWiki and Android police, we may have our first ever peek at an ice cream sandwich. As always, keep those grains of salt handy — they claim that their source is solid, but there is no guarantee it's not just elegant skinned Nexus S.

We reported a few months ago that ice cream sandwich will have an updated user interface, and these images seem to confirm this statement. One thing to note right out of the gate that she seemed far more spacing: distance between app icons and their names slightly increased, while the change is small, it makes the whole design more open. This may be an allusion to the hybrid phone/tablet that spot for ice cream sandwich.

The notification bar, probably the biggest change with room for the large icon and updates. Box app also seems to have undergone a facelift, with different headers for applications and widgets and integrated relationship with the market for easy access. And you've probably noticed the neon blue points; Apparently Google is sticking with the throne as their design inspiration.

Both sites sporting various changes, but in short, IRK36b build packages as follows:

New missiles and app box interfaceWill start with Google shopper and support NFC devicesGmail has been completely re-themed to match the ICS (not shown) S Nexus would receive ICS through upgrade, but "Prime Nexus" will receive its UI changes firstMostly – many older devices must be able to run apps on itThe homescreen can be "stacked" the Google search bar built into the top of the homescreenLa hundred

If this is actually a fake, it's a pretty convincing one. This is certainly beginning to build and pixels will certainly moved between now and release date, but it seems quite possible that ice cream sandwich will ultimately look like.
