Within four weeks after social protests began in Israel that have killed hundreds, dozens of women were raped, children tortured and countless areas were looted. Authorities imposed a full lock-down on all cellular networks. Was blocked access to Facebook and Twitter. Little information is in or out.
With the exception of the absolute, do the opposite.
Social protests in Israel started 4 weeks ago from a national Outcry over the soaring prices of basics such as cottage cheese. They then quickly into a full-scale national movement in the simple act of the time an unknown young woman. Act? A tent in Tel-Aviv Rothschild Boulevard to protest high apartment rents.
One tent was the heart and soul of the movement, whose main gripe is that the middle class is the seriousness of the imbalance of budget spending. "People demand social justice" is the key to sing.
Protests are local scattered throughout Israel, using hundreds of hundreds of thousands. Big name musicians voluntarily heading the protests. Barricades and PA systems, all free of charge. People talk about the traffic at each Cafe each lunch business at each meeting, each family dinner.
There have been several skirmishes with the law. Although the small stuff ... For example, small groups of demonstrators were arrested by police for blocking roads and were released without charge within one day.
Small Potato side, it's been four weeks and no violent acts of barbaric, non-discriminatory, we have seen in the Middle East and even in the UK. No shots. Looted stores. No form of communication has been closed. In fact, have not only the Israeli police and army did not take any role except for the protection of the protests themselves, they were even welcomed, literally hundreds of thousands for their efforts.
While in the neighbouring countries ' regimes of the opposition, in Israel we have complete freedom of speech to criticize our politicians and leaders. As I am typing this on the TV version of Israel SNL makes a parody skit of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for mishandling the situation (they have a red t-shirt with Che Guevara on it). YouTube mashups featuring PM soundbites? Is posted below for your convenience. Professional-level video advertising protests? Also posted below.
Sorry Sherwin, there is no need in your movements and retweeting it, the people of Israel are doing a-OK. Really take a look:
The basis of the movement certainly was Facebook, through the pages and events, and of course Twitter via hashtag # j14. The revolution needed site, right? The Right.
At the moment there is no guessing what people will change the next rise up and demand political and social. The world is not what it used to be before Tahrir. Although I wonder how many of these future movements of civil disobedience will be modeled on Israel, where technology and love has surpassed the violence.
