Over the last year or so I've noticed a surge in new, scrappy education startups. One of the most promising, I saw it ShowMe, formerly easel training. New York City startup just raised $ 800.000 seed round from Lerer ventures, SV Angel capital, betaworks, BOLDstart and angel investor naval Ravikant. Company employment.

ShowMe turns your Tablet PC into an interactive whiteboard video. Teachers can record lessons during speaking and drawing on the touchscreen. Then the resulting video can be viewed on the iPad app or ShowMe website where they can be found common and voted up. Videos are crowdsourced from teachers and tutors in the same way that the Khan Academy offers up training video, but with the added message board, which is particularly useful for subjects such as mathematics or natural sciences.
