Venturocket launches AdWords inspired work market kill summary

He may not get quite a lot of media coverage as the VMAs at the moment, but we are all aware of the fact that the economy remains in a toilet. Unemployment is still more than 9 per cent, and articles like this in detail, just how long it takes for the average American to find a job, job-seekers and giving up the search after only 5 months.

Of course part of the problem is simply not enough jobs are created, but it is also true that the current state of the workplace and markets today leaves much to be desired. Venturocket, job, service based out of San Francisco, today launches a new spin on the old model, which he hoped would prove more efficient way to match job seekers to employers. With a nod to AdWords to boot.

To start Venturocket founder and CEO Mark Hoag said he wants his service to dismantle old standards search work and rebuild the model from the ground up. For the Hoag, this means no more than a summary not more cover letters and classified ads. With the old, in with new. Venturocket also does away with the charges and fees for job seekers and employers, starting instead only charge a small fee to actual connection, i.e. the applicant gets called interview actual.

As an alternative to the CV and applications, services, requires potential workers to remit their skills and knowledge in these skills is by selecting them from a common pool of choice removing interference duplication and picky search filters.

But that's where the model Venturocket sets her apart from other job seekers: actually bid on keywords that describe their level of knowledge in specific work or qualifications, so you in very real terms, put your money where your mouth is. You are a developer of experts? Well then you can say that you are worth $ 20 and prospective employers to pay that price to talk with you, and you pay the price in return.

In fact Venturocket brings the same model used Google AdWords to determine the fee structure for your ad on the job search process. It is different (and possibly a bit above method) for determining the value of individual connections, but Hoag said he thinks that, having providers and seekers pay a nominal fee, however, he would ensure that both sides are really interested in each other, and that establish a connection. Quality of communication.

Otherwise, the service opened for jobs in each sector and freely join, find and use for the vacancy. Professional skills, it is easy to sort and separate serving results commonly used listings and related fields. Venturocket wants to abandon the need to spam hundreds of job sites and employers with your resume and hastily written cover letter, allowing employers to choose only from among the candidates with the best matches of the skill, leaving job seekers relax in knowing that they will automatically get in touch with the companies that they don't have to spend time compiling saccharin cover letter or prepare a professional headshot.

Now some may put off the fact that you have to spend money to bid for popular keywords, but as Hoag said usually there is a misconception that it is wrong or it is not possible to spend the money as part of the job search. Actually, people spend a lot of money, job seekers and Venturocket in the model, you pay only for those skills that best describe your level of knowledge — and if the employer pays the same way to get in touch with you. Hoag said he understood the model can be attractive for the top 2.5% of job seekers, but the other 97.5% of people are the ones who really need help.

Now of course, to the Adwords keyword price model passes range from $ 1 to $ 100, and for the sake of Venturocket, the price of keywords will be determined on the basis of competition. So there's a chance some titles are up, but Hoag said that, for example, Adwords, he expects the average price is significantly lower — $ 2.

You can also suggest that this model would find people adding hundreds of keywords to describe their level of knowledge, but Hoag said he wants to limit them to manageable numbers incentivize completion, so employees can enter up to 30 words, while employers can add up to 15.

Venturocket testing interesting solution with its new service, and it will be very interesting to see if the Adwords model tests well in the labour market. The idea has some real action on it, but people can really become comfortable with a service that bypasses traditional work assets like resumes and cover letters and replaces them with keyword bidding?

Chime in and let us know what you think. Learn more about Venturocket check 'em out here.

Gift card radio is flexible in that it did not specify how the money should be used. The recipient can choose to use it towards their monthly subscription offline music or with recently announced unlimited family plan radios.

Radio vs. iTunes-"rent" versus "native"

Gift cards are for the first time the radio is currently sold in retail stores in the United States. Although they will be sold along with the top competitor to iTunes, two services are actually quite different. iTunes payment you music that you upload, which can then be saved and synced to your Apple devices. In other words from iTunes you own you buy music, but with a radio, for the most part, you rent it.

As Apple's upcoming iTunes match radio also uses a tool that searches your local library (in iTunes or Windows Media Player) look for the names of the artists, albums and songs that are already available in its catalog. With radio in the monthly fee, but Apple will charge $ 25/year to do the same. However, Apple will also update the tracks for high-quality, DRM-format when you run your game.

In addition, users can purchase select the tracks for offline listening if desired – the feature that is on a par with traditional iTunes offer. Often this is due to the music labels and/or rights holders ' restrictions on streaming.

New radio gift cards are available in the trust now or on the radio on the Web site www.rdio.com/gift.

In an effort to be Dropbox music, Mecanto launches affordable streaming and storage services

If you're a fan of cloud-based music boxes, this is a good time to be alive. Back in March, Amazon somewhat surprising beat Apple and Google storage and streaming music from their "Cloud drive" and "Cloud player". Google and Apple have since begun to cloud music victims (or their Beta), and all three continue to improve and evolve as time marches on.

As a lover of music, it's great to see cloud music storage and streaming services, move forward in tandem, even if we must all recognize that our own personal bookmark. Because, frankly, more competition in this space, the better. That is why you should pay attention to the new startup, which enters the stage left: Mecanto. Yes, today, a new service cloudy music includes Arena, promising Unlimited Music streaming and storage of the listeners around the world is not to put a dent in your wallet. (TC 1000 Mecanto offers readers free 6 months subscription. Huzzah! See below for more information.)

On the basis of the Tel Aviv Mecanto hitting scenes this week to support cloud music player and storage service, easy to set up and all the things the user wants from their trusty neighborhood music locker: unlimited storage and streaming, the ability to automatically sync your iTunes library and PC folders with your account (with multiple computers), global accessibility, playlist editing, video, easy overview and cross platform functionality. Also doesn't hurt that users can find Mecanto on the Internet or go mobile iOS, Android, Windows Mobile and Symbian.

MeCanto Mobile interface is very stylish and enables users to easily listen to the songs and albums or create playlists. Stream songs over 3 G or WiFi and users can listen to any song they want without having to worry about how much space the song took on a phone. Here's to you, clouds.

This sounds like a great start, right? Of course, but with names like Amazon, Google, Apple, Spotify and numerous other staring down Mecanto definitely has uphill climb ahead. In doing so, accessibility is a strong selling point for the service of Israeli music. Look at your competitors: Spotify unlimited "and" premium cost $ 60 per year and $ 120 per year, respectively, iCloud comes in at around $ 25 a year, Amazon Cloud drive and cloud player is worth at least $ 20 per year (unlimited storage may be limited time offer).

Google, on the other hand is currently free of charge, but there is little likelihood that it will stay that way for long. For comparison, at $ 20 per year, is an attractive alternative to large Mecanto players, especially as it offers worldwide access, cross platform integration, and instantly uploads — suite, which its competitors only offer to pieces.

In addition, users are free for the first time Mecanto month service at the end of which they can pay $ 20 for a whole year or breaking it down into $ 2 monthly. To start using, users can download a small application for desktop computers, which will then download and synchronize all the music automatically. Bing, Bada boom Bada boom probable cause. The best part: to accelerate the process of downloading Mecanto's, this means that users can access their music almost instantly, even before the download is complete. Students may obtain direct access to their music, or they can choose to upload your files to slower bandwidth savings without having to worry about delays.

Not wanting to be anti-social at the age of Facebook music service also offers a social function, including the possibility of adding a video to YouTube account and playback, as well as the ability to share these YouTube clips on Facebook and Twitter, Last.fm scrobbling tracks Exchange current track for social networking, bidirectional synchronization and intelligent categorization tracks. As for the support files? Mecanto works with MP3, M4A, WMA, OGG, FLAC and a big part of their language.

Mecanto in the so-called "three screens and a cloud" platform really is an excellent alternative to the big names in space, and a "Dropbox for music" is not an analogy unfair. Course design isn't quite up to par with some of the other, but its availability, worldwide access and cross platform functionality can simply give Mecanto feet, it has to be taken seriously in a crowded with familiar names space.

So far run raised $ 2 million in funding from private angels, but you can be sure that the startup will seek more cash as he begins to scale and rolls out around the world.

Israeli music locker is definitely worth a look, especially under the auspices of the monthly demo and the fact that the first 1000 readers to TechCrunch, which here will receive free testing within six months of service. I mean, who doesn't love music deal? Check this.

iFixIt, known for their Apple update manuals and supplies, branching out into cloud services for hardware, devices, and chemical industry. A new project called Dozuki is currently in beta and it is designed to streamline the process of technical documentation, creating a Wiki similar conditions for the documentation and instructions.

Company testing their software to make magazine for the past year, and they point to Autodesk's acquisition of Instructables as an example of how the environment is ripe for the violation. "I think, buy AutoDesk Instructables shows that big money is in this space," said Kyle Wiens, CEO of iFixIt's.

"Industry has a huge technical documentation and software that is out there now is very old," he said. Dozuki is used to create simple instructions for the clients of the company's expansion plan and iFixIt as Ryobi and Home Depot. For example, a client can create a guide like this one fix RROD Xbox using cloud-based server that supports multiple editors. The whole team can talk about each part of the device separately – think "hints" for major hardware elements for woodworking and metalworking, for example – and offer useful tips for customers in the shop or after purchase.

"You have a lot of Service manuals for your tools, but they are in old PDF," Wiens said. "You could put them on the Internet and use them as the beginning of the Internet community, and perhaps your tool guide are just the start — encourage your customers to share how to do things with your tools."

"So they've got this useful information on how to learn plumbing and they sell all the parts, but they have not made it easy for people to connect the two. We would give them online as site and mobile applications to consumers and to the point of sale. "

"It's a great lesson that we learned from iFixit. People may not use our products if we do not teach them how. "

The site is now in beta and will launch this fall. You can sign up for a beta account and service will cost about $ 100 for small business clients and $ 499 for large organizations. You can see the prices here. "The going rate for social content software for large companies it is a little north of $ 100 k/year", said Kyle.

"The opportunity is huge," he said. "I'm not one to lavish estimates because I don't want to split the VCs, but we're going to make millions." I hope he can make a how-to, when it is done for the rest of us.

BTW this Dozuki. Is a Japanese saw, used for very precise cuts.

Chatterfly launches mobile digital loyalty App

chattefly-logo-main-beta

Digital loyalty run Chatterfly today launched its new programme of awards for businesses and consumers in the form of Smartphone apps for the iPhone and Android. How do startups including Google now owns Punchd Chatterfly seek to replace document loyalty card more modern digital version.

But Chatterfly not only for the manufacture of mobile punchcards entrepreneurs. It is a system of loyalty, which offers business owners the opportunity to hold their customers in other ways, including through social media sites via QR codes, in-store promotions and much more.

As with any traditional loyalty program company Chatterfly may reward customers for making purchases in the store, but they can also reward them for sharing their experiences at social sties like Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare and Google +.

With Chatterfly Customers earn points, which is a different model than the typical "buy 10 get 1 free" model, which is popular today. These points can be redeemed either on local companies or for your own Chatterfly award – choice to the consumer.

And because it works as a mobile application that Chatterfly can use the camera phone to scan special QR codes tied to stocks. For example, the company offers a store can accommodate in-store scavenger hunt to entice new customers to drop by. Or, if the business wants to do something easier, it may just offer points for those who scan the QR code in the store.

By itself, the idea of rewarding customer loyalty is good, but the application itself needs quite a bit of Polish, we think. Black and white images? Uneven layout? Yikes.

Of course there is still a challenge to convince business owners actually use the service, too. But Chatterfly have a little forward. Prior to the beginning, the company ran a beta test in the San Francisco Bay area with more than 100 enterprises, and said that he had received many positive responses.

The company is based in San Mateo, where it was founded in June 2010, Charles Michael Yim, previously in the business development of the software. It is funded by the private sector.

Chatterfly said the iPhone and Android versions of applications are available now and in the near future more platforms.

Chatterfly provides small and medium-sized businesses with retention and clients all over the mobile loyalty. These solutions enable enterprises to motivate and keep their clients coming back.

Music beta, remember? It is an online music locker service that Google unveiled at i/o in May. However, the keyword in the title is still very much "Beta" is in no way ready for prime time. OK, maybe it's a little unfair, running is simply cannot provide much. New feature today hopes to keep people interested while they work to make it better.

Magnifier is the site of a new music discovery, Google has launched today as a compliment to the beta version of the music. But let's be clear, this is a blog (it even runs on Google's Blogger platform). Every day, the blog will be updated with "song of the day" that can be added to your music a beta account with one click.

This is great, you can't knock free music. But the Magnifier is still one of the core incompetencies music Beta: there is no way to purchase music. To get the music in the beta version of the music, you should upload their own MP3s. Magnifier Now offers the second way, but again, this is only a few songs that Google has acquired the right to give away for free. Presumably they continue negotiations with labels and rights owners to be able to include music store or streaming music service, but this is clearly not ready to go yet.

And until it is ready to go, music beta will not be close to resembling "iTunes killer" or even Amazon MP3 competitor. Both of these services offer easy ways to browse and purchase new music. In the meantime, other services like Pandora, MOG and the advent of radio, Spotify just beginning in the United States-at the other end with music streaming.

Google says that the Magnifier is a way to "reignite your passion for music, but it seems more about reminding people that there is a beta of music. These transactions may not be soon enough for the service.

MediaCore softswitch raises seed funding, launches Platform for small and medium-sized businesses create their own YouTube

Screen shot 2011-08-10 at 4.48.02 PM

Launch officially public today a new venture called MediaCore softswitch, brought to you by Damien Tanner and Stuart Bowness, the first of which was in charge of the pusher, a solution that adds realtime tech applications, which was funded by Heroku guys, among other things, back in June.

Tanner and Bowness run MediaCore softswitch to provide any old small businesses with the ability to implement their own YouTube that allows an organization to control the experience from end-to-end. In other words MediaCore softswitch is a video publishing platform for SaaS (complete with mobile applications), provides the ability to create and control their own video site to any user or organization. And it's all about appearance.

How it works clients download content in infrastructure cloud-based platform and let the video play through MediaCore player, which, among other things, automatically detects the browser that the user connects to so that they don't have to worry about the differences between Flash and HTML5. Player sorts it for you, using HTML5, when possible.

Visitors can view video collection through a cool interactive guide and platform allows owners to easily organize their videos by categories and tags and automatically sorts content by relevance and popularity. Users can add logos, backgrounds, and play with the CSS to customize the look of the site. In addition, you can add your own domain, take advantage of podcasting and quite a few excellent service. In view of the fact that the establishment of a fully equipped video platform is no easy feat MediaCore offers a solution pretty cool white label that looks good and doesn't require much technical know-how.

MediaCore softswitch currently offers 15 days free trial, and after, plans start at $ 99 per month. These plans include custom domains, white label, custom branding, automated coding, introduces social video, etc., But the best part is that Android and iOS apps come with each account you manage to look pretty damn good too. Coming next? According to Tanner and Bowness is a private video profiles and paywalls.

To get the platform is off and running, the start is in the process of closing a seed round of angel funding from the Andrew Wilkinson, founder and CEO of MetaLab and Jessie Ma Gawker Media. While the founders refused to give specifics, round, probably hundreds of thousands. (United States Dollars, that is.)

When I asked them that inspiration for MediaCore softswitch, they told me that there are other video platforms are stacked with engineers and often pay little attention to the design, which leads to crappy interfaces and a number of failed user interfaces. Thus after the launch of the open source version of MediaCore softswitch for one year, they are bringing their SaaS platform for the market, in an attempt to lead you to design and make it easy to use.

Beta platform already attracted over 1100 companies, including the University of London, Mentor Graphics, TechVibes, Indiana University and a number of Fortune 500 companies. As a guess from its first customers and scalable cloud storage product aimed at the SMB, but the founders told me that during the year, they will be launching a number of personal plans, which will be offered below the current price of $ 99 per month.

MediaCore softswitch is also planning to start a Tumblr theme store in the near future that will allow users to buy themes and settings of their sites, all works through the API (a la Tumblr).

In General when paywalls roll and proper iPad interface falls MediaCore softswitch is probably going to be essentially video version OnSwipe. It is a good thing? You tell us.
