BlackBerry PlayBook is impressive at first glance. Pick it up, quickly scroll through apps and jump over the Internet. It all works as it should. But then you know you cannot connect to your e-mail; BlackBerry must be connected via the BlackBerry. This connection also allows the BBM, calendar and address book, but the update is due next month will finally bake several key functions in the PlayBook.

Most of the reviews and assessments of the RIM BlackBerry started a little PlayBook too early. E-mail is one of the major functions of each pill on green earth, but pretty hard at PlayBook, even if his target audience business rely heavily on this particular form of communication. The good news is that the fix is on its way, but it may be too late.

PlayBook sought to find a plane in a market dominated by iPad tablet, partly because early negative reviews, but rim should have seen this coming. Launching a product before it is fully developed and then rely on the updates that you got originally PlayBook on a weekly basis, do not give rise to trust.

Email and BBM update is expected to begin next month. Source Bloomberg RIM can run so-called Android player so far this year, which would allow PlayBook to run Android applications. These opportunities to revive the PlayBook and spur the sudden demand? Probably not, but at least RIM sticking to improve its platform and caring owners. This is something HP don't know anything about.

Sharp just did the unthinkable. Gingerbread RW-T107 Tablet actually useful and gives businesses a new way to interact with consumers with built-in NFC and RFID reader. The future of children.

The tablet itself has a 7 inch gingerbread varieties. This is a standard build and include microUSB, HDMI port, SIM card slot and headphone jack. Sharp plans to produce 5000 a month starting next month and it will likely be reserved for the commercial market and did not hit the consumer channels. It is intended only for the Japanese market, where RFID payment cards are common and NFC mobile wallets are gaining traction.

Think of it this way: you are in Japan (the Tablet is a Japan only) and your FeliCa card money. Sales associate will handle the transaction with this tablet. Or maybe you have a membership card for some random arcade; You can check your bonus points on one of these tablets. It's like the unmanaged client interaction system.

Other markets are likely to see such devices, since the NFC entering the market. Platform allows retailers to get rid of checkout kiosks and more to interact directly with customers. Of course there is always a solution to the Apple Store and equipment trading partners with credit card reading iPod touches. But it's not as fun as fully functional and Flash-enabled Android tablet.

showme

Over the last year or so I've noticed a surge in new, scrappy education startups. One of the most promising, I saw it ShowMe, formerly easel training. New York City startup just raised $ 800.000 seed round from Lerer ventures, SV Angel capital, betaworks, BOLDstart and angel investor naval Ravikant. Company employment.

ShowMe turns your Tablet PC into an interactive whiteboard video. Teachers can record lessons during speaking and drawing on the touchscreen. Then the resulting video can be viewed on the iPad app or ShowMe website where they can be found common and voted up. IPad app has been downloaded 150 000 times since its launch a month ago, it's not bad for education.

Videos are crowdsourced from teachers and tutors in the same way that the Khan Academy offers up training video, but with the added message board, which is particularly useful for subjects such as mathematics or natural sciences. But really it works for any entity when the Whiteboard can be used as a learning tool. ShowMe takes a Board from the audience and puts it in the student community.

ShowMe in technology also powers the Princeton Review SAt Prep app.config in the video below, which I shot in April, the Director General Kim San shows off technology.

ShowMe iPad applications provide a practical book for K-12 subjects and standardized tests. If students get stuck on a problem, they can Touch ShowMe instantly see stepping ...
