Microsoft is touting Windows phone 7 's, Xbox Live functionality, starting from the first day, but it always felt a bit lacking. You can look at your cute little avatar and play games that bump up your gamerscore, but where is the Xbox experience, which we saw in the demo as this one?

It would seem people in Redmond are not quite there yet but the demos on their GamesFest in Seattle on Monday morning shows us that the idea had not yet fallen by the wayside.

Microsoft and Kinectimals team showed off a Novel method of moving furry friend from within Kinectimals Xbox games on Windows phone. Players who loved pets on their Xbox can have the game create a QR code that you can scan in Kinectimals mobile applications. While on the phone, players can take photos from your camera and strategically pets in for kicks.

When players grow tired of carrying their little digital Tiger around, the application creates the same QR code that gets scanned at Kinect camera and pet gets the re-import into the game. Geekwire is a demo video for those who have problems submitting it:

Kinectimals connection is part of Microsoft's plans to strengthen ties between their hugely popular Xbox Live and Windows 7 phone. Frankly, it's about time: it's one thing for Microsoft to use the brand of Xbox Live to get their mobile OS some gamer cred, but doesn't deliver almost useless, if this experience. As WPcentral points out, the only game before Kinectimals, which was characterized by any kind of integration with relevant House was a full House Poker which allowed gamers to transfer their winnings between sessions of play.

Between today's demo and concepts they have already come up with Microsoft considers potentially own a significant portion of the space in the mobile games if they can just get their game on.
