"You can get a mask and join the fight, too! But I heard jewellery shop sold out until Friday. "– ' Anonymous ' (NY Times)

As proponents of "Anonymous" again to take to the streets — and platform — around San Francisco Bart rail system, frustrated commuters can find some fun reading pages of today's New York Times.

Reiterating what most of us with half a brain already know the month, Nick Bilton reported that every time someone from anonymous user buys one of those smug, Guy Fawkes masks, they line the pockets of time Warner ...

"Stark white with pink cheeks blushed, wide green and thin black mustache and goatee, masks resonates with hackers because he wore a rogue anarchists, call authoritarian governments in" V for Vendetta ", a movie by Warner Brothers in 2006 year. What few people know, though, is that Time Warner, one of the largest media companies in the world and the parent of Warner Brothers, owns the rights to the image and paid licensing fee from the sale of the mask. "

Well, duh.

Much has been written about the curious double standard anonymous: behind the mask while performing coarse privacy anyone they consider to be their enemy; objections, when journalists talk about their leadership ("who can be Anonymous"), but cried foul when someone threatens physical harm in their name ("they're not with us!"); bitching about The Man, restricting their freedoms, while simultaneously breaking thousands of ordinary residents of San Francisco.

Properly what has not yet been discussed, however, is both creatively bankrupt the entire endeavor.

Given that the band began life on dwelling monsters, ground zero memes, this should be no surprise that all the anonymous deeply derivatives. Indeed, this was all the points. In a group use the Guy Fawkes mask goes back to, of course, V for Vendetta; Warner Brothers movie, which was adapted from Alan Moore's comic book series. But movies and comic books old media. As Bilton, he picked up dumb viral video "Epic fail guy" is seen peering in the basket and new, to wear masks, "V" is for members-dwelling monsters remember film and come up with the idea of a Moore pictures from their own.

The protagonist in v for Vendetta, you remember, called upon throughout the UK, dress up in these precise masks in order to create a huge army of anonymous overthrow of repressive Government. (He also attacked and imprisoned terrified, Natalie Portman, but whatever). Being mostly from the generation accustomed to copying and pasting other people's ideas as their own, anonymous members feel free to take a mask for their real-world pranks, using his first protest against Church of Scientology and now in protest just about anything else. (By Moore, he said that he was glad that the anonymous user uses his character to their protests and so it must be: if any writer is the appropriation and re-use existing signs for fun and profit, Alan Moore)

Of course mass protests have always relied on common slogans and motives. Many people have a deep concern about the proliferation of nuclear weapons, but it took the phrase "Ban the bomb" and the ubiquitous CND symbol to merge them into a notable movement. Sound a thousand chanting: "we will not be moved" will always be more powerful than the shame people simply singing or chanting that comes to mind. For all these reasons, the Guy Fawkes mask is prima facie (sorry) symbol of the ideal mechanism. But while the "Ban the bomb" was coined by protesters of their deeds, the key difference with Anonymous that almost none of their defining images, slogans and methods were actually created, invented or conceived by members of the anonymous user.

V for Vendetta was not actual protest but the protest submitted by bestselling stylization of comic book and blockbuster movie. Similarly, taking the V mask anonymous risks of less as a truly grass-roots movement than a parody of one carbon copy what some children seen in the film and decided to mimic because it looked cool. Meme.

It doesn't help that in almost all cases, the attacks in response to the group name is a DDOS attack, using well-known holes in SQL — most bog standard point-and-click variety. Lack of creativity and original ideology percolates throughout the organization. When anonymous protesters claim they do something "for the lulz", or just Parrot any fragment of an idea they had heard the same day ("well, it's because of the Iraq war and racism in Arizona and. .. what bad thing Sony did ... "), they create visibility don't really know why they were protesting at all. It is just that — well, everything else to wear masks, um, I've seen it online and it looked cool-and hey, fuck you! We are legion! Expect of us!

Given the staggering lack of original thought, authorize the enter Anonymous, it is fitting that many of those who today protested in San Francisco would prefer to pay people to use its product – equivalent protested McDonalds, throw a cup of Starbucks coffee, instead of spending 10 minutes to come up with their own characters.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on the species — same laziness will likely raise short term storage for anonymous popularity. Memes get old quickly; in taking original ideas to achieve real longevity. Time Warner must benefit from the windfall, while they can.

Funded YC Bushidō: the App Store for the Web site that could kickstart the side projects

If you are a developer, there's a good chance you have a handful of — or more — projects. Things to tinker with evenings and weekends and can download at GitHub, but that you have never seriously considered releasing Wild as a separate service. Not because you think they are bad, but because they are a lot of work to maintain — and you still have this day job to worry about.

Bushido, Y Combinator startup, which made its debut last week at demo day, wants to give developers a hand: they make it super simple to take this app and put it online for other users to sign up for — and maybe even make some money from him in the process.

The problem, explains the Bushido co-founder Shawn Grove, is the process of converting these open projects usable services, authentication and payments, what many developers do not want to deal with. so instead of having to disclose them to the masses, they sit at their GitHub repository without getting much attention.

Bushido looks to fix it by passing the developers everything they need to get their app and run. At this point, the service supports Rails application (it offers Bushido Ruby Gems), and there is a simple API to quickly integrate user authentication, payments and other common traits. Bushido is also home to the project, so developers don't need to worry about paying for AWS or other services. In turn, Bushido takes 15-40% profit of each application (the percentage you pay goes down more your application receives as economies of scale kick in).

To start the service allows users to deploy is open source applications like CRM and CMS FatFree diesel locomotive, and more apps will be coming as developers to add them to the service.

Bushido also has some much more ambitious goals than just simplifying things for developers — they also want to serve as a centralized database to authenticate as a user and data for open source applications. In other words they want to become Web layer that allows applications to communicate.

Right now, if you sign up for the Bushido powered app, you will create a login to Bushido work on all other applications running on the platform. This helps reduce the barrier to entry, so users can quickly start using the new application. And, if the data is stored in a consistent manner, even you can access the same data between different applications.

Of course, this approach will not appeal to everyone. Bushido is going to monitor both the users and your data, and at this point, it has no export feature. Grove said it will be coming, and that at the time of startup expects to win the trust of developers (Grove and the rest of the team are open source developers, so they have a good idea to concern are).

Another possible problem: some developers may not like Bushido SSO approach because it makes it easy to hop competitor app. Grove recognizes this also, but said he would be a good challenge for them and adds that, in General, open source developers prefer to compete on the merits in comparison with the lock. It also sounds as if this becomes a big enough problem, Bushido consider making some changes.

You can remember Raspberry Pi, PC in emerging markets, which they hoped to sell for $ 25. When we wrote earlier this year, there wasn't a lot of demonstration: a few stills and video from the PCB founder David Braben, describing his plan for this device. But today we have a demo that captures the imagination and idiot proof device has legs: they got his start Quake III.

Not that it is some great achievement for the launch of the game, released in the last millennium, but it really is doing very well. The device uses 700 Mhz ARM processor and 128 MB of RAM allowed here, and there are no storage device, it runs OS (Debian CLI) and the game off the SD card.

Check out the video:

They could hit above, but wanted to show that 1920 × 1080 with 4xAA became possible. Naturally you could reduce this quite a bit and Max from the refresh frequency for your monitor; Q3A not exactly the most graphically rich game on the market.

The game not being a role model; in fact they are an open source version for Debian build. They plan on several network together and soon play deathmatch.

Now, isn't that the point of this now will have the opportunity to hone their skills FPSing disadvantaged children in Kazakhstan. It is rather proof of concept to show that (relatively) modern piece of software can be adapted for equipment they've put together: raspberry Pi really is completely on the computer. And while Micro ATX boards and systems out there (very useful of them actually), they don't come anywhere near the mark of $ 25. You still need to LCD, keyboard, SD card or USB drive and so on, but Fund FE Raspberry decline is all about the barrier and provide everything you need in the main computer for a low price as soon as possible.

Keep up with the project. They've still got a lot to be done before they make it a viable product, but things seemed to be moving fast.

Pony Ma and Lei Jun anchor to break the Beijing

announcingdisruptbj

Even before I worked at TechCrunch Disrupt was one of the few industry conferences that I looked forward to every year. There are two big reasons why: the enthusiasm and joy of the startups out there that run and an unprecedented lineup of the most interesting people in tech, Frank and honest talk.

We expanded the franchise to New York, it was natural for most exciting Silicon Alley stage names. This includes people like Fred Wilson and Dennis Crowley, but also the top names in media as Charlie Rose and Arianna Huffington. We even threw New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg in the mix.

In thinking through the lineup to derail the Beijing – our first ever international conference – I wanted to make sure we and some of the most interesting personalities from the West to China. But more importantly that we anchor the show with the most interesting names on the stage of Chinese technology, we can find.

This is not a conference about Silicon Valley coming to China to tell in the country, as is the case. China is the only country in the world, where entrepreneurs are already build Locomotive Online $ 1 billion. This Conference, which aims to bridge the gap between two distinguished tech ecosystem in the world today.

So after many months of work and in the early morning, Transcontinental phone calls, I'm happy to start announced the composition of our group. This combination of veterans and newcomers, investors and entrepreneurs, and of course the East and West.

The Conference will kick off with one of the most captivating people in the tech world today: Tencent CEO and founder of Pony Ma.

Although the Alibaba and Jack MA or Baidu, Robin Li, often at the international conference circuit, this pony Ma, which proved to be a strength, Chinese entrepreneurs may be on a global scale. Tencent is not only the largest Internet company in China, it is the third largest in the world. This Titan from China surging online games/virtual goods universe is one area where Valley copycats not Chinese. Tencent company you worry, if you run in China, and if you start in the US – how to Groupon –, is a company you want to do a joint venture.

It's the perfect time for Ma event header TechCrunch. After years of focusing on the Chinese market Tencent are starting to get more international, expands its staff in the United States and quietly acquiring United States launches. If you can't make it to China, it will be a keynote address, which you'll want to make sure you catch on livestream.

Lei Jun is not nearly as well known as MA, but when I asked friends and entrepreneurs in China, which they most like to see on stage at Disrupt, almost all of them mentioned it. He is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor, which is compared with each of Ron Conway in Peter Thiel. Earlier this month he made waves with the announcement of the upcoming Android phone Xiaomi's in keynote, Steve Jobs-style.

Xiaomi is one of the most ambitious startups in China right now. It seeks to make the first smart phone with high quality, and for the Chinese market, the price is cheaper than other local smartphones and less than half the price of the iPhone. Will it run on Android, but Google features and services are specifically for the Chinese market. It's sure to turn off the pricing war that will affect everything from HTC for Google and Apple one of the biggest tech stories of the fall.

We will announce more speakers over the next few weeks, so you may want to grab your tickets here now. And if you don't speak Chinese or Chinese speak only – don't worry. TechCrunch invests in real-time translation headsets for the Conference, thus each of the guests could solve the audience in their native language and everyone in attendance can trace.

As I said at the beginning of this post, another thing that could Disrupt a special event is to start the battle. We can stack agenda with big names, but we rely on the TechCrunch community make battlefield simply unforgettable. If you're a startup, and you want to demo your product at one stage as pony Ma and Lei Jun, send us your application now. Application forms are available in English and Chinese languages, and presentations can be done in any language. The battlefield is not limited to Chinese companies – like all our Disrupts startups from around the world are invited to submit.

Questions about whether your company fit? If in doubt, don't hurt to fill in the questionnaire. Just TechCrunch staff will verify applications, and we want to see every great.

Stay tuned for more information about how to defeat Beijing in the coming weeks!

The company claims since March 2008, Tencent is China's largest and most used Internet service portal. Popular products company powers as instant messaging and games.

Google + source code Snoop Gets the job done in Google

google-plus-logo

Austrian blogger and designer Florian Rohrweck recently discovered a lot of Google + upcoming features just digging around in the source code for a new social networking services. He was one of the first (but not only), open Google + games prior to its launch, for example, as well as the still-unreleased features, such as "shared interests" and social search among other things.

Now it seems Google had enough Rohrweck snooping. He hired Rohrweck to protect the code instead.

This story is a little familiar, doesn't it? In the end only last week, Apple hired one of iOS best hackers, Nicholas Allegra, also known as "@ comex" on Twitter, to work on providing mobile operating system.

In addition Rohrweck will be responsible for providing Google Web apps from leaks and possible worked as a developer advocate. (Even he doesn't know that his duties would include, he said.) The ink does not dry on the contract Rohrweck notes, so technically he's going to be employed, do not work yet.

But to be clear, snooping code (and blogging about it extensively), got a Google account first. Said Rohrweck, Exchange, "Yes, that was my brain and sneaky!" that makes them nervous Google already took notice and gave him scream in Google + at the code in an Easter egg.

We expect to get hired by Google Rohrweck detailed and sneaky (and Yes, sometimes NSFW) views on the future of Google + will be published now is not for everyone. It's too bad for us, but probably smart of Google.

Earlier today I check out some new issues in the area of TechCrunch themes on Quora. In particular caught my eye: how TechCrunch traffic affected by their major redesign in July 2011?

It was something I've seen asked here and there, taking into account the radical changes we have made — and, I suppose, given the Gawker audience problems following a recent reorganization. Mostly people seem to want to know: is TechCrunch petrol station?

I had installed to weigh in when I noticed that someone already. This person (unrelated to TechCrunch) painted a picture in which our site essentially crashing and burning since the reorganization (response since removed, Quora, presumably because the vote down). Their source? Compete.

Dear Internet, I thought we worked on this? If you bring compete or Alexa for anything except making fun of them, you are officially a moron. How bad their data? Well for compete, if you reverse their charts, it would be much closer to be correct than it is now. Seriously wondering if they're tracking anti-visits or some new metaphysical STAT, which I did not know?

TechCrunch will set a new record of all time for traffic (both unique and pageviews), this month, breaking the previous record was set last month. And that broke the previous record for the month before. In other words things are on the up and up. How to learn? I have the luxury of directly measure results from Google Analytics and WordPress.com in the field of analytics. Both confirm that compete and Alexa, absolutely useless when it comes to this type of measure.

I mean seriously, the data from each service is so bad that I don't see how either still works. I cut some slack search STAT public because they are only two free public tools out there to assess the data traffic. But seriously, you'd be better to just guess.

Yes, Quantcast is much better, but they have their own problems, and that is why we don't expose data publicly in this way.

New Google trends for websites seems to be halfway decent for a while, but last year, they also fell off a cliff in terms of accuracy, it seems. In view of the fact that Google never talks about this product anymore, I'm going to assume it is one of many that fell in neglect — which is too bad.

As for Alexa, which belongs to Amazon, I have no idea what happened to them. It seems to be a landing page for advertising above all now.

And Yes, I know that compete to focus on Internet use United States. But looking at our cards that data segment is even more inaccurate, compared with reality. Compete has always been fairly quiet about how they actually collecting data — and sometimes sounded quite sketchy — but the fact remains the same: data stinks.

But I'll give credit to compete: their data, showcasing their own downfall it seems accurate enough, as corroborated by comScore.

With regard to the question itself Quora, I responded to it there. Long story short: traffic is pretty much after the reorganization. Thanks to all!

Short version: unique and powerful camera prevents uneven attention to detail and inadequate system menu. For the camera, so strongly and effectively focus on back to basics heritage ugly menu slow focus and chintzy dials seems especially out of place. In this case, beauty really is only skin deep. With the exception of fabulous lens and sensor I must say.

Features:

12-megapixel APS-C sensor23mm F/2.0 Fujinon lens (~ 37 mm equivalent) advanced hybrid EVF/LCD optical rangefinderRetro styling and high quality buildMSRP: $ 1199

Pros:

Simply beautiful and strong as rangefinder hellHybrid incredibly coolGood image quality and low light performance and

Against:

Operation often frustratingManual accent is a simple awfulSlow and sometimes difficult autofocus

Full review:

I made no secret of my excitement about X 100. After playing around with it at CES earlier this year it was almost the only camera I'm seriously looking forward to. And finally, something to replace my aging Canon. The triumph of retro design and modern technology. And in a sense, that is. But while they certainly created a beautiful camera that can produce beautiful images, they were able to make the camera you want to use it.

Before we go any further, let me simply remind our readers that it's pretty late and clearly anecdotal review. For thorough testing and comparison of image quality I recommend DP Review coverage. It's only me to add my thoughts to the pile.

Something old, something new

There is no denying Fujifilm has crafted an amazing object. Too many cameras, especially compact, have a sense of high-tech chintziness, thin bits of metal, plastic, chippable and toylike set. Fujifilm has a camera that feels almost like a solid, as my old Canon film SLR from the beginning of the 70-ies. You have a retro look, of course, but it also has a feel for the most part.

I love the way the shutter and aperture ring offsets dials and feel. It is so nice to spinning-then again to choose something etched in stone without using the jog dial to tell part of the software to open a little more aperture. Shutter release button threaded, metal-joy press. Pancake lens and compact form factor to make things a little close for comfort if you have big hands, but hot hard to figure.

And hybrid viewfinder! What a result! Seeing that the overlay to the rangefinder for quick references, and then binding via the electronic viewfinder the High Res is magical. It works as advertised, it looks great and makes you want to show it. Here's how it looks; Sorry, image quality lenses up to putting my eyepiece limited my Compositional options.

Cool, isn't it? There is some difference in rangefinder and Viewfinder show, but this is the reality of Rangefinders. Knowing your design in the Rangefinder is something that takes time and the ability to instantly switch to the electronic Viewfinder is very convenient.

The other shoe

But then I started taking pictures.

The first thing I did was try to focus the camera on something on my desktop. Autofocus, image flashed and worked ... nothing was in the center of attention. I tried again and again. Apparently I had to switch to the macro for objects closer than 20 inches or so. And that's when I first used the d pad/dial. That cheap feeling a little piece of junk! His rocking everywhere, you have to hit it sort of your thumbnail and Center button to the microscopic. It was on camera, $ 1200?

All menu system gives me the same feeling of low quality. This interface more consumers in the professional camera. Information on the LCD and Viewfinder haphazard and poorly organized. Taking video means the switch-disk configuration for that crappy little d pad. Why not, say, the shutter speed dial, because this is the dial cannot be used in any case in video mode? If you should have a macro mode, why do I have to click and choose between on and off? If there are only two modes, why not just button to switch between them?! This is nothing that I couldn't get used to, but that's not what I want to get used.

And manual focus, one of the fun things in the "professional" camera, especially one with such a big, fast lens and HD video, useless. You have a nice (if narrow) ring with a smooth action, but in fact only change the focus in little spurts for about half a second of each other. Not only that, but I felt incredibly low sensitivity. I brought him on its minimum focus, which is pretty close (~ 4 inches) by using the Macro AF mode (accurate when you are in your range), and then use the manual focus ring for the President on the other side of the room in focus. Averaging about a quarter of a turn for the movement, it took me 16 spins to get President in focus! This three or four complete revolutions rings! Lens for my Canon comes from macro to infinity in a half-revolution.

Conclusion

I don't want to do this in a litany of complaints. But I am disappointed in this Chamber. Can he ever lived up to my expectations? Of course, I think this is even with updated firmware still have a huge number of improvements, before this camera is a workable replacement for something like a DSLR or even really a reliable alternative to other ~ $ 1000 camera. X 100 is a unique and powerful device, but its weaknesses just make it too much of a chore to make it worth a recommendation. The camera is simply not ready for those who do not wish to compromise on how they shoot.

However, this is the first version of the camera, which has sold incredibly well and almost certainly will see real improvements in the next few years. This is a "visionary" of the first generation product, in fact, with all the pros and cons associated with this class of devices. If you are ready to fight the camera interface and doesn't mind dozens of quaint operational habits, X 100 is interesting and capable camera. But if you're looking for surveying experience is convenient and fast, look for other now.

HealthTech FAIL: lessons for entrepreneurs from startups health gone awry

Train Wreck

Editor's Note: this is a guest post written by Dave Chase, CEO of Avado.com patient relationship management company, which was a finalist in the TechCrunch Disrupt. He was formerly a management consultant to medical practice, Accenture consulting for 25 hospitals and founder of Microsoft health business. You can follow him on Twitter @ chasedave.

Healthtech represents the sector is constantly growing, but from a pool of $ 1 billion that VCs poured into startups in the past year, medical companies only got about 3 per cent of the total. Not so many startups healthtech were able to provide these large enterprises cartridges; However, last week, I drew the attention of one company healthtech seem to be doing it right: Zocdoc, which raised $ 50 million round from summer time earlier this month and suggested some points to consider for startups looking to draw lessons from experiences in Zocdoc (check out the post here.

As the above company numbers from Rip in the post, a lot of startups have not yet really demonstrated the wisdom shown by Zocdoc, resulting in an increasing number of failures healthtech over the past few years. A recent study, inter alia, underlined the phenomenon. After interviewing 110 digital business health RockHealth has recently released the findings of the study, showing the gap between companies that actually receive funding and the many people who have come up empty.

This trip sheds light on why so many companies could not blow healthtech or had to undergo significant changes in order to survive. Below you will find some of the best reasons for startup failure healthtech:

The lack of specific attention or acceptance of terms

Is well known that insufficient attention kills startups in healthcare or not but it is especially common in health care. Healthcare industry suffers from an abundance of pain points and is in serious need of shocks, so it's tempting for new startups to try to resolve them to make the greatest impact. However, these startups ignores the old saying about how to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. Too many startups biting off more than they can chew. It is better to choose one major pain to deal with and go with him.

Expected consumers to pay

With the exception of weight loss programs there are not many examples of consumers pay directly for health services. Over time, this may change, the greater burden of healthcare costs gets switched to consumers, as outlined in part II of a series of health disorders (see references below). Nevertheless, I would be very cautious of any business, expecting that consumers pay in the near-term.

Expected users to enter much information

Although I believe there are more reasons why Google Health is not expecting consumers to enter information is one of the major factors in why personal health records (PHR) failed to gain significant traction. Most of the PHR rely on individual data entry, and few are willing to do so.

Requires an enormous amount of money

This tends to occur during periods of bubble where there is a grand vision and frothy financial markets threw huge amounts of money. Eventually, they were not sustainable franchise.

Require multiple and complex partnership

These runs depends on too many partnerships are likely to run into problems, these partnerships often involve the established players. Unfortunately established players have significantly different sense of urgency. Many good ideas die on the vine, waiting for business development and legal departments on established players who do not share launch a sense of urgency.

There is no understanding of the dynamics of recovery

This is definitely the number one reason why healthtech startups failed. The results of the study RockHealth highlight an important aspect of this. On a positive note 77 per cent of the VCs think health IT investments will increase in the United States by the year 2011. Already 35 digital health care companies with $ 2 m + in year 2011. It is important to note that 80% of them receive funding are B2B (i.e. sale of health professionals in business, etc.), but most entrepreneurs digital health surveyed think consumers will pay for your product or service. Despite this most entrepreneurs digital health early build B2c companies.

Before it's too late, I hope these companies will find a way for anyone except consumers pay. This can be through advertising model or technology licensing for organizations. In this case, the consumer is a product, not the client. The client is an organization.

You can find a complete study of RockHealth in embedded below for your viewing pleasure:

The following is a series of health violations listed above:

Health violations: Pharma 3.0 will encourage the transition from life science investing HealthTech
Health violations: providers will use the HealthTech differentiate and produce better results (part II)
Health violations: providers do newspaper industry mistakes (part III)

When I first saw the legend of Zelda: skyward sword at E3 2010, I have to admit I was not impressed. Demo clearly rushed, the Wiimote was not responsible, and he took it as the Slingshot with a dozen rock knocking down one of the spiders. But it definitely formed nicely over the last year or so and look better than ever in PAX. Now that the doubters were met to some extent, it remains only to set a date for availability. And we just got that.

New game will be hitting the United States on 20 November, just in time for the holidays. I get the feeling that there will be plenty of Zeldas under trees this year. And what's more, you can buy complete with fabulous Golden Wiimote teased, we saw at E3 this year just $ 20 more.

The kit will sell for $ 70 and simple version for $ 50. Why don't you get the kit? Both versions, however, will come with a CD of Zelda 25 anniversary concert.

If you don't already know about it, we'll have a review of the game as soon as they begin to send these little buggers.

Ticket sales for enterprises, nothing beats, "sold". But whether the flight is selling all their tickets or sports team fills their Stadium, the show must go on. Enterprises with perishable inventory can benefit from daily transactions model and those that you can make money on additional goods (purchase, which make up for revenues lost in offering discount) you can often break even — Take movie theaters and sports venues, for example.

This occurs when a company called Goldstar enters into the field. Gold Star-based membership site live entertainment half price tickets that allows sites to unload their additional tickets, make some extra income and generate word of mouth marketing.

GoldStar, which currently has relationships with more than 5000 place partners (from Cirque du Soleil and Ticketmaster in San Francisco) and paragraphs Matt coffin, Emmy award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris and former Ticketmaster CEO Sean Moriarty as members of the Advisory Board wants not just become a "Groupon entertainment tickets.

To differentiate their models from the likes of Groupon and LivingSocial, Goldstar avoids revenue sharing with merchants and monetizes, instead taking a fee for each ticket ($ 4.50 in average), allowing entertainment — or show themselves — to take home the full cost of each ticket sold.

So far this model works for the ticket site entertainment as Goldstar recently announced that it sold its five millionth ticket and now has more than 2 million members in more than 20 major markets in the United States. The site currently offers 1200-1500 half price tickets every day.

Of course, as anyone who has used ticket discounts knows — so far so good, just satisfaction of scoring a deal on tickets, we want to be able to go in a movie or show and sit with our friends. Unseat. Me, for example, the attack is a friend, allowing subscription owners to offer their tickets with friends until their sale of anonymous people at StubHub.

Today, gold star announces its own solutions to ticket buyers and suppliers to address this problem with its characteristic "Sit with friends". GoldStar in new patent allows Goldstar members who purchase tickets for personal reference, then they can share with friends via email or social network of choice. Users can use this link to buy tickets in the same event and automatically get seated with their friends.

With five million tickets sold, the Goldstar has come a long way since he sold his first party tickts horse Ballet in Pasadena back in 2003 year. The company never accepted outside investment, however, managed to stay profitable — with only a dozen staff. GoldStar CEO Jim Mccarthy said that the key to the armed forces of resistance to large sales La Groupon was to cultivate its existing relationships with the places and shows instead focus on closing new merchants who can never use the site again.

From the perspective of the future road map, Mccarthy said that Goldstar is looking to expand into new cities in the United States and to improve its core technologies of construction of the new features, such as sit with friends that encourage people to get out to see live entertainment — in spite of the tough economy.

Founded by former GeoCities, Warner Bros., eToys, Overture, Morgan Stanley and Noah's bagels staff in 2002, the Golden Star is a website that is dedicated to helping its users to go to ...

iEmu

Ready this week almost too ambitious Kickstarter project?

Meet iEmu, a new project from one of the early hackers of the iPhone. Goal? To get the iOS and works in an emulated State on Linux, Windows, Mac and Android.

In a building on top of QEMU is an open source project manager Chris Wade (who had a role in some of the early exploits of jailbreak iPhone) hopes to fully emulate the Samsung S5L8930 (A4) chipset used in iPhone 4 and first generation iPad.

This should be easy enough, right? I want to say that your computer can play SNES games and arcade games! This should be a breeze!

Yes No. Even after they figured out how to emulate a CPU (which, in accordance with this page, they've done), they still need to hack together an emulated GPU support, USB controller, Multitouch controller, memory, audio system and all secondary components (Bluetooth chip, GPS, compass, etc) and once they've got all the hardware stuff covers? Then they get to find out how to get all this stuff to download. I'd love to see all of this will happen to call it a massive project will be an understatement.

"But wait!"you're talking about. "Apple already provide their own iOS emulator?"

Like, but with some pretty big footnotes. First of all, Apple is Mac only solution. The second and not so easy to explain in a nutshell: Apple on iOS system test is a simulation, emulation. Although it looks like iOS and iOS acts like, Apple's Simulator isn't actually using a version of virtualized iOS. This is a trivial difference to 99.9% of the world (and even the very vast majority of developers iOS) — but for tiny piece people (safety engineers, digging for the deficiencies of the system, for example), a massive difference.

Now, for the ever important question: why? Because they (hopefully they) can. In addition, the objectives, get up "most of the iPad/iPhone apps" and works on iOS devices allows true iOS emulation on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS device (why device iOS? think virtual machines), and allows security engineers to give due consideration to iOS malware without potentially destroying their actual device. Plus reverse engineering, participation in theory leads to documentation on all aspects of the iPhone, that no one outside of Apple really understands.

Chris trying to raise $ 20 k for this project, which will cover his living expenses for 3 + months, he says, to cover the costs of hosting and production/delivery of the Kickstarter awards. If you're down throw a few greenbacks in the mission, you can find the project here, but it is known to Kickstarter: these guys have one hell of a mountain to climb. If they were able to get things up and load in a reasonable period of time, don't expect Android devices for chewin' through tons of iOS-native apps and games soon — there is still question as hardware emulation crazy computationally expensive to deal with.

And it doesn't mention what Apple legal thinking all this ...

Started by Steve jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, Apple has expanded from computers to consumer electronics over the past 30 years, officially change their name from Apple Computer.

Social application developer Seesmic makes a big step in social enterprise and debuting dedicated Android app and iPad app for Salesforce CRM product (Windows phone 7 will also be added soon), called Seesmic CRM. Android app will be published tomorrow morning at Salesforce at the annual Conference, Dreamforce and Seesmic launches iPad app within a few weeks.

For the background of Seesmic, which was founded by a French entrepreneur Loic Le Meur, allows you to monitor and follow up the social web. Seesmic desktop, Internet and mobile clients integrate with Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. Bonus using an application like Seesmic is the ability to combine your streams from a variety of social Web services such as YouTube, Foursquare, Techmeme, LinkedIn, and others.

But lately, Seesmic dabbling in the enterprise and launch more focused business functions. Last fall, Seesmic has deep integration with Salesforce enterprise social network chatter. And then earlier this year, Salesforce 4 million Australian dollars round in Seesmic.

Mostly Seesmic Android and iPad apps CRM lead all the functionality of Salesforce CRM for mobile phones. Users can search their Salesforce.com account from native applications; Search for leads, contacts, accounts, related activities and sets of chatter on the move; Creating and updating leads, contacts, tasks, and activities; Log calls and emails after meetings; and much more. And applications use mobile OS; to map users to their respective leads to their current location; upload photos and more. While prices had not been announced yet, Seesmic may charge a fee of $ 10 per month per user for the application.

Le Meur tells us that he does not compete with Salesforce CRM giant, because currently does not offer in-depth Android and iPad apps. In fact, Seesmic is working "hand in hand" with Salesforce mobile group to develop these native apps. And Salesforce particularly bullish on social enterprise at the end — "Welcome to the social enterprise» is the theme of the Dreamforce this year. As Le Meur said: "we are working with Salesforce, not compete with the company."

Of course it's interesting that Twitter's developer platform is shifting focus from building consumer and focusing on the enterprise. In March, Twitter basically told developers avoid compete with them on their own customers. It's not that Twitter doesn't want developers to build off their platform, they simply do not want developers to create clients that simulate Twitter's own services.

Thus Seesmic found new user base in the area of business. Le Meur explains that the use of mobile and social enterprise of the future for Seesmic. While the startup will not relinquish their Web and mobile applications (Android app company has more than one million users); all efforts of Seesmic now completely focused on attracting social for business users, "said Le million euros.

Seesmic BlackBerry app shuttered a few months ago. You can watch Le million euros in a recent conversation with TechCrunch TV Andrew Kina here.

Venturocket launches AdWords inspired work market kill summary

RIP Empson-writer at TechCrunch. He did not find friends here, he is here to win and you don't forget it. You can contact him at rip [at] techcrunch [dot] com ? more

Screen shot 2011-08-29 at 3.03.36 PM

He may not get quite a lot of media coverage as the VMAs at the moment, but we are all aware of the fact that the economy remains in a toilet. Unemployment is still more than 9 per cent, and articles like this in detail, just how long it takes for the average American to find a job, job-seekers and giving up the search after only 5 months.

Of course part of the problem is simply not enough jobs are created, but it is also true that the current state of the workplace and markets today leaves much to be desired. Venturocket, job, service based out of San Francisco, today launches a new spin on the old model, which he hoped would prove more efficient way to match job seekers to employers. With a nod to AdWords to boot.

To start Venturocket founder and CEO Mark Hoag said he wants his service to dismantle old standards search work and rebuild the model from the ground up. For the Hoag, this means no more than a summary not more cover letters and classified ads. With the old, in with new. Venturocket also does away with the charges and fees for job seekers and employers, starting instead only charge a small fee to actual connection, i.e. the applicant gets called interview actual.

As an alternative to the CV and applications, services, requires potential workers to remit their skills and knowledge in these skills is by selecting them from a common pool of choice removing interference duplication and picky search filters.

But that's where the model Venturocket sets her apart from other job seekers: actually bid on keywords that describe their level of knowledge in specific work or qualifications, so you in very real terms, put your money where your mouth is. You are a developer of experts? Well then you can say that you are worth $ 20 and prospective employers to pay that price to talk with you, and you pay the price in return.

In fact Venturocket brings the same model used Google AdWords to determine the fee structure for your ad on the job search process. It is different (and possibly a bit above method) for determining the value of individual connections, but Hoag said he thinks that, having providers and seekers pay a nominal fee, however, he would ensure that both sides are really interested in each other, and that establish a connection. Quality of communication.

Otherwise, the service opened for jobs in each sector and freely join, find and use for the vacancy. Professional skills, it is easy to sort and separate serving results commonly used listings and related fields. Venturocket wants to abandon the need to spam hundreds of job sites and employers with your resume and hastily written cover letter, allowing employers to choose only from among the candidates with the best matches of the skill, leaving job seekers relax in knowing that they will automatically get in touch with the companies that they don't have to spend time compiling saccharin cover letter or prepare a professional headshot.

Now some may put off the fact that you have to spend money to bid for popular keywords, but as Hoag said usually there is a misconception that it is wrong or it is not possible to spend the money as part of the job search. Actually, people spend a lot of money, job seekers and Venturocket in the model, you pay only for those skills that best describe your level of knowledge — and if the employer pays the same way to get in touch with you. Hoag said he understood the model can be attractive for the top 2.5% of job seekers, but the other 97.5% of people are the ones who really need help.

Now of course, to the Adwords keyword price model passes range from $ 1 to $ 100, and for the sake of Venturocket, the price of keywords will be determined on the basis of competition. So there's a chance some titles are up, but Hoag said that, for example, Adwords, he expects the average price is significantly lower — $ 2.

You can also suggest that this model would find people adding hundreds of keywords to describe their level of knowledge, but Hoag said he wants to limit them to manageable numbers incentivize completion, so employees can enter up to 30 words, while employers can add up to 15.

Venturocket testing interesting solution with its new service, and it will be very interesting to see if the Adwords model tests well in the labour market. The idea has some real action on it, but people can really become comfortable with a service that bypasses traditional work assets like resumes and cover letters and replaces them with keyword bidding?

Chime in and let us know what you think. Learn more about Venturocket check 'em out here.

One of the most destructive talents of Steve jobs is to know where it fits. It I mean he and his team of talented designers, engineers, and technologists Wranglers of the supply chain. Standing pat, when the alternative is worse is hard to do, but one Apple under jobs made a trademark.

Take the iPhone 4 and its famous missed calls crisis. In reply to jobs at the delivery of software patch, comparison with other competitor offerings, providing free to those who have already bought the phone and make a deal with Verizon to solve a real problem: AT&T you can see the determination in the strategy. This is what we found, that's what we do, we're betting that you'll stick with us. He was right.

Same tune with record companies. They want to continue to hemorrhage income and destroy support for scaling up support for new talent? Or they want to adopt a strategy that will give them some assistance in the transition to the digital future at the expense of a powerful partner who sometimes seemed to be a gatekeeper. Underlying the calculation is the realization that no one else in the technology business chance of routing around cartel and going directly to the audience.

Over the years since he returned to Apple, and even until the next car, with seats set out markers from which he would not retreat. Floppy disks were easily call, both audio and video files are overloaded format. CDs were next, and then quickly DVD, television and film media blew out models of physical storage. But as with WiFi on the iPhone, the introduction of network storage by default means drove the buildout of these technologies.

He took some hard work to get the AT&T enable WiFi in the underlying platform. Carrier correctly concluded that it would exert pressure on its cash cow SMS and required bandwidth restrictions on the use of 3 G to download music, videos, and applications in response. Despite this through expectations, forcing the company to build its network as fast as it could undermine the e-mail and Web surfing. Antennagate was in fact more about transforming my phone to a mobile computer.

After the Android phones showed the same usage patterns jobs kept pressure on the iPad, reboot YOUR PC as network-centric device without DVD-ROM drive, and even addressable hard drive for all intents and purposes. Flash is again an exception event stubborn at first, but it soon became clear that Apple's rethinking laptop OS around new application platform, which browser around wrappered, not vice versa. Deleting plugins and at the same time opening HTML 5 dev environment as low-level jobs took advantage of Android competition once again raise the stakes of bandwidth.

Much of the AppStore requirements for adoption 30% subscription, but while HTML 5 alternative jobs actually app markets model for comparison. iCloud weakens Android open argument downloading untethering with a desktop computer, while at the same time the destabilization of the entire concept of desktop and, ultimately, notebooks, and floppy disk, the drive,. 3 (G), operating system, file system, write, upload, each bar has been deprecated in favor of host cloud advanced rich client platforms. The most impressive job stuck premium pricing model, until the rest of the market had to overtake Apple and lose CLOUT with suppliers of the volume.

Recent events have highlighted the strength of the innovate, release, stand pat model. HP capitulation equipment is as much about cloud computing as the iPad, but Motorola's acquisition of Google is a clear signal that the audience would not leave apps. The collapse of the television networks as Studio seeks to avoid the fate of record companies, but the iPad sent him over the edge.

Just this week you can see Libya meet over Al-Jazeera, CNN through authentication to a satellite or cable services, and the rest through the Slingbox — all on the iPad and iPhone. Spotify offers music business, HBO go its premium content, and the rest of Netflix, Hulu Plus and Slingbox. AirPlay even pushes it back up the big screen, putting pressure on Sony and other manufacturers, Apple TV or risk missing the last stage of Dodge.

All these transformations is the Office of technology strategy. Google has shown that it can produce fantastic synergy with accumulation and use of large data. But what it has showed no aptitude for bringing creative industries with network effects in real time. Google TV is still a question mark, because it is clear that the networks will have none of it. Unlike the Apple TV continues to build a head of steam because it disappears into the wooden content and workflow strategy of iOS platforms.

Most Apple TV is the center of the iCloud WiFi. You don't need to be convinced about Apple TV, because you already have. Work is in the Middle TV takedown than at the beginning. Today I must make a conscious decision to move from HDMI 2-3 to get into the world of Apple TV. But if the news networks flip iPad if Slingbox iPad cable switcher if AirPlay works in all these applications if iOS 5 delivers push notification routing, Oh wait a minute, it's really Apple TV. Jobs was right all along.

Eagle-Eyed readers may have noticed "with HTC sense, HTC Vigor to pass on the recently leaked from behind, and has not yet leaked may have revealed what to expect when it includes. Five-minute video tour of the HTC sense UI updated 3.5 only appeared and gives us a glimpse into the next big devices, HTC has in store for us.

Broadly speaking, it looks very much like feeling 3.0 skin as seen on devices like the HTC sense. This is not surprising, given the small version number bump, but the team HTC UI seems to be focused much of their work smoothing transitions and adding small details.

The biggest difference visually is the disappearance of the standard three button feeling run bar at the bottom of the homescreen. This seemingly replaced box and phone keys separate application. Also updated the HTC widgets and also played with the ability to add and remove homescreens.

HTC sense 3.0 looks cool, but extra bits of Polish that went in version 3.5 do devices feel more ... complete. The amount of material that may make sense normally means cluttered homescreens for most devices, but the meaning of 3.5 at first glance feels much cleaner and more open. In addition to Vigor sense UI 3.5 is also expected to appear on the notorious HTC Bliss, for girls only Verizon smartphones.

Android popularity comes from the ability to customize endlessly, but definitely in the market a wonderful experience out of the box. No word on start hitting 3.5 sense of mobile phones, but here's hoping that it won't take too much time.

Over the years, there’s been a radical change in the way we interact with our networks of friends online. It used to be that we had a few of our friends (online or offline friends) on a service, allowing us to connect to friends through the Internet and see what their activities were. Where the Internet used to be a somewhat scary world full of strangers, we suddenly had friendly anchors to explore that world with. Sure, most of our friends weren’t online, or at least not using the same services, but the familiarity was comforting and the ability to see what a few of our friends were doing allowed us to find new content and new friends.

We fell in love with sites that made us feel like there are people out there who are similar to us, who we are talking to and having common experiences with. But then, some of these networks — Facebook and Twitter in particular — began to grow explosively. Facebook facilitated a cultural norm of using its service to “friend” everyone we knew. All of a sudden we had tons of our friends everywhere we went. With the experiences gained sharing online spaces with a few friends, logic would dictate that having more of our friends online would make this experience richer. But that isn’t what happened.

Instead, there is a new trend happening: We’re not really paying attention to our friends we’re connected to online. Take Twitter, for example. Twitter used to be a great place for many early adopters to talk tech. It wasn’t so long ago that there were few enough people on Twitter that you could read every single tweet in your stream.

But as the network began to become more dense, and people found more people they knew and liked on Twitter, they began following hundreds of people, and reading all those tweets became impossible. This is such a fact of life that entire companies are based on the premise that you have too many friends on Facebook and Twitter to really pay attention to what they’re saying.

For example, Flipboard, among others, highlights its abilities to share with you the best of your friends’ Twitter and Facebook posts. These companies, and even Facebook’s news feed intelligence, are helping us deal with the disconnect we have with our friends because of our connectedness—they’re sorting through the deluge of information this expanded network created for us.

Therein lies the paradox of the social network that no one wants to admit: as the size of the network increases, our ability to be social decreases.

Like anything else, networks and the information flowing through them follow the laws of supply and demand. As the number of bits, photos and links coming over these networks grew, each of those invisibly began to decrease in worth.

Perhaps that explains the excitement over new products. When a smaller crew of people are using a tool, such as Foursquare, we can keep track of our friends’ locations and whereabouts. At a smaller scale, knowing this information and being able to expect that others have also seen it let us all in on a little secret, it made early use of Twitter feel somewhat magical. But as the number of friends begins to increase—particularly over that magic Dunbar number of 150—the spell begins to wear off. At this scale, we simply can’t easily keep track of it all. When our number of connections rises above 150 everything becomes simply comments, as real conversations tax our already limited ability to interface with the network.

What used to be a small community of web explorers and renegades had turned into nothing more than a large party of somewhat meaningless Foursquare checkins and an excessive use of hashtags. That mythical thing, social connection, doesn’t flow over these networks; information flows over these networks. The only reason the network ever felt meaningful was because, at small scale, the network operated like a community. But that breaks apart at large scale.

Which leads us to communities: Communities, the kind with clearly demarcated lines of membership, have always existed within the context of larger networks, and always broke off in bits and pieces to make them feel familiar. Communities, and the spaces that are given to them to form in, are the only way we are able to work with the network of the physical world. Our soccer team, our school, our workplace, our street, our town, all have their own communities. And I suspect that these are the only things that will make the digital world similarly manageable.

Communities give us an audience and a perspective. We know who we’re talking to. This doesn’t seem like a big thing, but it’s the glue that holds our communication together. It’s the difference between shouting out into the void, and having a conversation with someone standing in front of you.

What’s the difference between live tweeting a sports game or participating in an SB Nation game thread? A tweet is not an experience, it’s the broadcasting of an individuals’ experience to a vague and undefined audience. When I think about the kinds of things I tweet, they’re things like “I just read a cool article, check it out,” or “About to get on a plane,” or “GOALLLL!” if my team (the San Jose Sharks) has just scored.

The thing about all these is that they’re not a shared experience—they are my experiences, which I am sharing with you, but you probably cannot experience with me—my thoughts or fascination with the article I just posted, the feeling of getting on that plane, or the thrill of watching the Sharks tie the game. Perhaps you can compare your notes of your own experience of these things; that’s what most Twitter conversation seems to be, to me, but the experiences are not shared.

This differs from a discussion in a community, such as the type that occurs on SB Nation game day threads. The conversation does not center around any one individual’s experience, but rather the collective condition of the community. The conversation is the experience. Each comment is driven with the purpose of evoking and expressing the emotions that the community experiences, and particularly the ones they hold in common.

This habit of evoking and expressing common emotions is what drives inside jokes and their internet incarnation, memes. Sure, there are disagreements and differences in communities, but the magic is in the similarities: Knowing that everyone on there is also a Sharks fan and just swore at the TV over that goal is emotional and valuable. That’s what expands the sense of belonging and membership that people in a  community feel, and becomes a basis for the entirety of the rest of the discussion (even, especially, differences).

SB Nation is in real-time, but it doesn’t have to be: communities have sprung up for years on traditional, slow PHP bulletin boards. Lost fans populated message boards and blogs, uniting over their common love of Lost, and the way the show antagonized them—what is in that hatch?!

If the pattern of all our networks is to grow larger, as Facebook has pushed others around it to become, consumers will hit these limits on the meaningfulness of these networks. If we are creating social products, we need to create products that do allow people to be social, really social.

We need to build products that don’t just allow users to write and publish, we need to create products that encourage discussion, experiences, and lasting, meaningful relationships. These are the things that create real benefits for users and the products that inspire them. And thus, the future of the social web is no longer on a network, it’s within communities.

Unedited Wikileaks cables found on the Internet? Probably woefully

"The creatures outside looked pig to man, and man a pig and pig to man again; but already it was impossible to tell which is which. "- George Orwell, animal farm

"Leck BEI Wikileaks". Title in the German News weekly Der Freitag, described a paradox with Teutonic efficiency: leakage in Wikileaks ".

In history, published on Friday, the editor of Steffen Kraft claims found on the Internet "password protected file csv" containing 1.73 GB cache completely unedited diplomatic cables originating from Wikileaks. According to Kraft password file is also easy to find.

The same day, a large number of cables Wikileaks dumped online and asked its followers to help sift through them. Copies of the files were available to news organizations as the guardian, the New York Times and Reuters months, but this is the first time when documents are made available to the public. The liberation came, said Chief leaks Julian Assange, because the MEDIA lost interest in diplomatic revelation yet unreported. (A cynic might withdraw this Assange — who remains under house arrest in Britain pending extradition on charges of sexual assault is concerned that the media too have lost interest in them.)

But paper Der Freitag are not official Wikileaks files, which are partially redacted to remove the names of sensitive sources. Rather, it contains thousands of unedited pages with ' informer named or otherwise identified "for" and "alleged intelligence agents" from Israel, Jordan, Iran and Afghanistan.

It is important to emphasize that der Freitag unpublished proof, even the unedited file. But according to Kraft found many documents that have previously been published in the form of censorship. And to make it clear, Der Freitag not only some rogue German paper: they have a syndication deal with guardian (erst-while partner Wikileaks) makes it unlikely they could invent a story out of whole cloth. (Update: Der Spiegel has confirmed the existence of the file — see below for more.)

Thus if unreadacted files are found their way online, what are we to make of it? Kraft makes it clear that these files may have been leaked Assanage Arch nemesis (and former colleague), Daniel Domscheit Berg OpenLeaks. Earlier this week, he claimed to have destroyed thousands of unpublished documents before leaving Wikileaks, and he made no secret of his hatred of his old buddy (I wrote earlier about his memoirs frothy anti Assange). Of course, along with staff at the guardian, the New York Times and Wikileaks, a growing number of partners, current and former mainstream media Domscheit-Berg is a possible suspect.

In truth, almost doesn't matter who is responsible: the possible release of unedited cables is inevitable. Wikileaks message — and the cult of an immoral diversion for lulz, which came as a result, has always been one of the callous disregard for the human "free information". From Assange's comments highlighted the Guardian journalists that "if [whistleblower] get killed, they got it coming to them. They deserve it. "LulSec and anonymous willingness to publish personal data of any even tangentially related to their" enemies "that we see again and again to the mass of the leak is ignoring sociopath for natural persons, in conjunction with the Hollywood serial killer hunger for attention. Earlier, later, for your attention to some politically incorrect for the lulz, someone was bound to get and leakage of primary documents.

Because public attention from Wikileaks Libya or hurricane Irene or Lady Gaga appearing in the Simpsons, leak, should resort to riskier and riskier behavior back to the headlines. And so it would be woefully small wonder if both sides Wikileaks Openleaks skirmish gladly gave up the odd Afghan tribes or Iranian civil servant to score cheap points over their rival.

[Update: Der Spiegel, another former partner of Wikileaks, confirmed that the leak is legitimate, the right blames the split between Assange and Domscheit Berg.]

Der Freitag title notwithstanding, there is even more terrifying irony in all this; and see him, you have to turn back to the beginning of the history of Wikileaks. In 2010, Julian Assange, invited the guardian David Lee in his hotel room, watch the video of an American helicopter supposedly mowing down Reuters journalist. The file name "Collateral murder", and public outrage seeing blatant disregard US forces innocent lives done Wikileaks — and Assange is a household name. If der Freitag report is accurate, the words "Wikileaks" and "Collateral murder" could be was going to make a resurgence in headlines. Only this time it won't be US military blood on their hands, but the actual leak.

It is time for your weekly dose of the next generation iPhone rumors. This edition is a doozy, friends. Alleged iPhone leak components everywhere with each site, claiming that they are the real deal. It's hard to tell what components were lifted straight from Foxconn lines, but when they'll be seen as a whole, these components an interesting picture, it's Apple's dramatic change of course and completely disrupt the cell phone market.

It is reported that Apple is about to announce the next iPhone (or iPhones), either in September or October. There are currently two competing rumours circulating that Apple is working on low cost iPhone probably code-named iPhone4S N94 and higher-end iPhone 5 called internally as N97.

Just last week a slew of iPhone parts hit the web. Most are of similar design to the current iPhone 4 with a physical home button and similar overall dimensions. Macpost and Engadget both posted the same set of photos "leaked" this morning, showing that most assume is the cheapest iPhone 4S. Parts marked N95 with EVT1 (engineering) ' 03-March 2011 '.

Several other diversion, including the early parts of further support ubreakifix.com claim, at least one of the upcoming iPhone model is very similar to the current iPhone 4. Reuters contributed to this claim last week when she said that the Apple 8 GB iPhone soon will release 4. Moreover, even this case, claimed that for iPhone 4S is similar to that used in the iPhone 4 slightly adjust the antenna and the lack of space for the home button.

So far, including talk about cloud iPhone seems to suggest that Apple is targeting low-end market with the next iPhone. But it just doesn't feel. Apple has stuck to a hard refresh cycle of two years, which stated that major changes had to be in June last year. This never happened.

Then just this morning, industry control DigiTimes, citing higher vendor group and contrary to previous rumors reported iPhone 5 will have fewer than 4 inch LCD and equipped with metal back panel, rather than strengthened glass is used in the iPhone 4 and 4S leaked iPhone parts. This source claims that the internal components, including single A4 chip is likely to remain in the game for the iPhone model. It is not unheard of Apple will be of similar products aimed at different market segments and are only cosmetic differences. This, however, is without precedent that Apple releases two iPhone models at the same time. IPhone 4S and iPhone 5 if they are both real, kills Apple's legendary keep it simple, silly mantra, but officially signals war on low-end BlackBerrys and Android devices.

Of course, it's all just silly speculation to Tim Cook, Jonathan Ive or someone who takes the stage and officially announced the next iPhone, or rather, iPhones. These leakage hitting an absurd pace, though. Apple may soon have to deal with the iPhone 4 fiasco all over again.

Started by Steve jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne, Apple has expanded from computers to consumer electronics over the past 30 years, officially change their name from Apple Computer.

Building Windows 8 development blog was interesting to read for a while. Hear straight from the developers and then see unfiltered responses from users and secondary devs refreshing, even if the subject is not particularly convincing, or I don't agree with their choice. Today, perhaps the most extreme example of this so far. Discussion of the new file manager Windows 8 is worth a read — but it is a file manager you use?

The new Ribbon UI for Windows Explorer is so cluttered with buttons of various sizes, labels, multidisciplinary icons and tabs that I can hardly hear it. This is more like a Hall of mirrors, than the target workspace. Is this really a new, streamlined Windows?

Microsoft seems to go in two directions simultaneously. Sleek interface Metro demoed earlier this year they are pushing for a full screen, super-natural gesture-based navigation, that people have come to expect to some extent in tablets. But under the hood, it looks like Windows only becomes more and more Windows-esque. I wrote some time ago that Cadillac Windows operating systems, and this seems to support this.

At the same time, Apple quietly moves in one direction, not that it's better. UI changes in Lion suspiciously efficient and powerful file management is simply not a priority. I don't want to bring my personal preference it too much, but I think it is beyond dispute that for some users, this is good, while for others it's frustrating and counter-intuitive.

But anyone who thinks that this desert button is an effective way to communicate options and current action for inexperienced users? Discussion about the tape went on for some time and again, this really looks like for some it's a good idea, others not so much. But this one in particular seems to be quite densely populated. This is mainly because of the way, Microsoft has developed a tape is not a limitation of grouped buttons very idea, something I see other well implemented every day. Look at the sheer number of arrows! Only at the top of the window, I count three up, 10 down, one up and down four right and two left. With a variety of contexts, weights, graphics, colors, and goals.

I should add for the sake of Justice, that there are other real improvement measures, some of which are detailed in the blog. Give it a read, so you have some context for the parts that I criticized.

Two ways

Research they did to user actions is a kind of a fundamental choice which serves to illustrate the difference between Microsoft and Apple. Microsoft found that more than 85% of users to perform common actions (cut, paste, rename) context menus and keyboard shortcuts. Only about 10% of the command bar is used, and is unlikely to top menu.

What would you say that the important lesson here for future development? There are two very different interpretations of the data.

Microsoft concludes that the command bar is not sufficient, since it is not reliable enough and after further investigation found that few of even common actions in order to find out there. They are looking for something that they want to add. Such a decision, obviously, to pump up command bar until it becomes equally useful. This means putting all popular commands there, sorting and labelling, filling the empty space with things they think may be useful and rare isolation settings on other tabs. The result is what you see: button salad with every item at your fingertips, a large number of which millions of users never touch.

Apple will come to the conclusion that the command bar is not enough, because this is not effective. They are looking for what they need to subtract. Whether the necessary elements in it or not, clear user preference to shortcut menus and keyboard shortcuts. The solution is the complete elimination of the command bar and find a way to make more popular methods of access even more accessible. The result is a simplified interface with fewer options, and users forever doomed to follow the path chosen by Apple.

That is the correct lesson? Clearly no. That is why we have two warring OS styles, as well as powerful, serious differences between them. But one thing that Apple at Microsoft it is committed to the idea of forces on its users and usually performs with style and taste (in the style of Strunk loud mispronouncing words). Unable to complete the project quickly with style and taste, but you can make it intuitive to grandmothers and grandfathers, who cannot transfer their minds around double click or hold down the ctrl key.

Metro user interface is a breath of fresh air for Microsoft, because it's not a compliment superficial, it looks good. It doesn't look "impressive" or "powerful," he looks good. It looks like something that people can use. This will have a difficult time for Microsoft as this new user interface that competes with the old (and despite what you say, I guarantee that they compete), but they should start making some real design solutions that extend the use of Windows. The browser interface which will be among the most widely used on all PCs Windows 8 is a horror to new users, and ignores the many subtle and not so subtle design guidelines. It is possible that the user interface could be successfully with the best art and performance, but this is simply not compatible with high-level decisions about the direction of Windows in General. These engineers must not without worrying about which never used the button should be accompanied by the "new folder". This is a waste of time and money, Microsoft Corporation.

Microsoft has to make something that makes Apple. Sometimes this means leaving things behind, which never had Windows strong suit. If they hope to retain their existing users and maybe even get a few back from Apple, they must do more than keep adding varnish to their existing methods. This does not mean simply emulate Apple and make the same mistakes that they make, but they should fight on new grounds and make tough decisions. ARM, Metro and WP7 were good but difficult decisions because they questioned the previous decisions is considered successfully — things that are useful for many! But when they let things like this cling like barnacles their fresh new OS, they are allowing their legacy interfere in what should be done.

NFC will be everywhere, one day, but we still have a ways to go. Unlike other functions Smartphone this requires on the huge scale of just about everything that definitely will take a while. But we are approaching.

Although Sprint fiddles with Google Wallet, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile reportedly made plans to invest over 100 million dollars in their joint mobile payment network called Isis. Can anyone else smell simmering competition?

According to Bloomberg carriers can invest way more than depending on how many traction, they can get out of the banks and merchants. ISIS already has the support of a major player in the trade: Visa. However, Google Wallet has its own big name credit card company MasterCard.

Two mobile payments network also have the "offer" services that send coupons for users that they can save and redeem their phone. At least in the case of Isis, the network will supply money by charging marketers pay to send coupons to mobile phone users.

Carriers had originally planned to start around mid-2012 Isis, but because Google (and Sprint) appears on track more quickly in terms of use of the service, merchants can pick up the pace of the Isis. In fact, he better hurry as mobile payments industry is expected to be $ 240 billion this year alone, Juniper Research. Only this number is expected to triple within the next five years.

After a steady flow of information in June, all was quiet on Facebook project Spartan front in recent weeks. Initially, at least some thought the plan was to reveal the Spartan in July, but it is clear that came and went. It is certainly possible, we don't hear anything until f8 in late September at the present time. But one new bit of information has come to our attention that could be linked. Say hello to BoltJS.

BoltJS is a UI framework that is built on Facebook for this purpose "helps developers build fantastic mobile Web applications with HTML5 and Javascript, as you can read it here for yourself. It is entirely written in JavaScript and runs in a browser window, it means that you want to not handling backend. And guess where the focus of the project is now: mobile browsers WebKit — as the Spartan project.

Here is a description of the developer Shane O' Sullivan's own words from the GitHub project page:

BoltJS is a structure of UI design Facebook is compact, fast and powerful. It is entirely written in JavaScript and runs in a browser window, requiring no backend server. While BoltJS can be used in the progressive enhancement approach, it is intended primarily for interfaces that are built mainly, if not entirely, in a Web browser.

Although the objective of the project BoltJS to support as many modern browsers as reasonable, currently focused on supporting mobile browsers, WebKit, design the best possible platform for mobile sites and HTML5 apps.

About ' Sullivan is a software engineer at Facebook Client UI team. Other sponsors of the draft are will Bailey, Vlad Kolesnikov and Tom Occhino.

BoltJS is built on top of Spears and plays nicely with Facebook the current code, comments about ' Sullivan. It also contains modules that use CommonJS standard. For all other technical details, check the docs page GitHub.

But here are some other interesting things about the project. First Facebook doesn't seem to want to say a few words about this. I asked them about this a few hours ago after back and forth about something else. So far Nada in response to this. This is not surprising, given what I said about BoltJS — namely that it should still be secret.

While at GitHub are documentation, source code was never released to the public yet. Links do not work on this page for the source files zip and tar. But I'm told that BoltJS already being licensed secretly to third parties that are preparing applications to show off using the platform. At least one of these third parties is a major player in the consumer Web space. Again, this sounds a lot like the Spartan.

Also on GitHub-demo application built using BoltJS, entitled "Weather app". If it looks familiar, it's because you have an iPhone. It is essentially a weather app again using the JavaScript framework. Still think Facebook is not going to fight with Apple's mobile down the road? …

It's all for now. More as we get it.
