"We welcome the news of today's acquisition, which demonstrates that Google is deeply committed to the protection of the Android, its partners and the entire ecosystem".
This was Peter Chou line right after the deal was announced by Google-Motorola and it appears that he took it. Today, HTC CEO announced his intention to stick to it with Google and Android in spite of the acquisition of several billion dollars.
According to the Wall Street Journal Chu seeks to reaffirm its support for the deal, saying it would benefit the entire ecosystem, because Google will have strong patent shield thanks for purchase. The end result: more Android for producers to work with.
Chu to dispel recent rumors that HTC considers the establishment of the OS on their own, stating that the company's goal is to differentiate their products during the mobilization of partnerships "with partners software Google and Microsoft. CHOW strategy, of course, it seems so far to work: HTC is the manufacturer of the Android phone # 1 in the country, with Motorola, per second.
Mr. Chu also noted that Google has been deeply committed to their relationship with HTC and with good reason: you don't need to remind you that the HTC Android partner number 1 and worked with the view of the mountains to bring the first Google phone to life in 2008. At the time believed that Google/Moto transactions can make for rough seas between Google and Android devices from other manufacturers, Chu and HTC, it seems to have faith that Google will live up to their famous "don't be evil" credo.
HTC, in a sense, it seems almost fearless these days: Chow turbulent support Google, HTC'S new patent suit against Apple and their acquisition of a controlling interest in the beats are sort of maverick, "we can handle anything" air about them. Even if the Motorola for receiving preferential treatment (and I have a hard time imagining that they will not be), HTC seems ready to accept what will happen next with a smile and a new phone in his hand.
